Planting and Soil

You will use basic planting techniques to get your marijuana plants started. You will germinate the seeds and help your plants through the vegetative and flowering processes.

When you grow your marijuana in soil, you get the best bud flavor. Soil is also the least expensive of all of the growing mediums. The following are the general guidelines for choosing a soil for growing marijuana:

a) Avoid soil that has any added nutrients. When your plants get to the flowering stage, this can significantly restrict their growth and potential.

b) Choose a high-quality potting soil that holds onto moisture well.

c) Go for a soil that has many ingredients mixed in, such as coco fiber, compost, bat guano, crab meal, blood meal, peat moss, composted forest humus, sandy loam, alfalfa meal, Mycorrhizae fungi, perlite, earthworm castings, fish meal, bone meal, kelp meal, pumice, humic acid, soybean meal or rock dust.

d) Choose a good nutrient blend that you can add to the soil during the initial growth stages. This will ensure that you control the nutrient content and that there are no added nutrients during the flowering stage.
